Our family business originally started out making cakes for family and friends about 19 years ago and quickly spiralled into a part-time job. Our Head Decorator Melanie Hennessey was raised in Manchester, England and has been in the catering industry all of her working life. She is professionally trained as a Chef and Baker and holds a certificate in 'Kitchen Hygiene and Health'. Melanie has been a chef since 1990 and decorating cakes since 1994. Her husband and co-owner Gary Hennessey is also a professionally trained Chef currently working at one of Calgary's finest new restaurants 'Smugglers Inn' as Head Chef. After moving to Calgary 16 years ago Melanie decided to start All Occasion Cakes. Our business is home based (no pets in the house) and we do "Whatever it takes!" to make your cake special for you and your event.
